RESPLENDENCE

Displaying a shining, brilliant quality; gleaming; splendid. Nature is easily one of the most explored subjects in photography and art in general. Landscape photography can be traced as far back as the beginning of the medium. This project, however, follows the footsteps of American landscape photography in a nontraditional manner. I push the boundaries of nature and landscape photography by introducing artificial lighting techniques.

Using artificial light, I am able to create more dynamic and whimsical scenes before the camera. My cinematic approach not only captures nature in a magical state but it also creates a dialog with the flora. Resplendence is an adventure that goes beyond traditional landscape photography and the familiar by transforming what already exists in nature with the simple use of light.
